Brexit October 2021
From 1st October Safety and Security Declarations become due on goods leaving Great Britain. Legislation requires that an electronic EXS must be lodged before loading onto the vessel that will carry the goods from Great Britain. Routes affected for Irish Ferries Freight include Holyhead/Dublin, Pembroke/Rosslare and Dover/Calais.
Please Note
- Time limits exist for submitting an EXS which include a minimum of two hours before sailing ex Great Britain.
- On the Holyhead/Dublin and Pembroke/Rosslare Routes – an EXS must be lodged a minimum of two hours before departure from Holyhead or Pembroke.
- On the Dover/Calais route – an EXS must also be lodged a minimum of two hours before departure from Dover.
- Under our Standard Terms and Conditions, the responsibility for safety and security declarations for unaccompanied shipments is with the haulage company. This is also the case for driver accompanied shipments.
- An EXS must be submitted whether the unit is laden or empty.
